Yoga Sequence Builder for Yoga Teachers
SomaAxis helps yoga teachers plan intentional classes, organize their ideas, and build a reusable library of sequences without taking over the creative process.
Design Classes with Intention
Planning a yoga class often starts with ideas scattered across notebooks, saved posts, and old sequences. SomaAxis is a yoga sequence builder that helps you shape a class with intention, rather than simply arranging poses.
Instead of piecing together a sequence from memory, scattered notes, or last week’s class, you can build around a clear energetic journey. Consider how you want students to arrive, where the practice will build, and how you will guide them towards integration and rest.
The SomaAxis Framework gives you a place to begin, while every decision about the class remains yours.
Created for Yoga Teachers
SomaAxis is designed for yoga teachers at different stages of their teaching journey — from newer teachers learning how to shape a complete class to experienced teachers looking for a clearer, more efficient planning process.
Use it to prepare an individual class or develop a library of sequences for different styles, themes, energy levels, and student needs. Your previous work stays organized and ready to revisit, adapt, and refine.
Why Teachers Use SomaAxis
- Spend less time rebuilding classes from scattered notes.
- See the overall shape of a sequence before teaching it.
- Develop a personal library that grows alongside your teaching.
Build in the Way That Works for You
Begin with Start Empty when you already know where you want to go, or choose Start from Structure when you would like the SomaAxis Framework to guide the overall shape of the class.
Add poses, adjust their order, and organize them within the stages of the sequence. As the class develops, you can see how it moves from arrival and preparation through progressively stronger layers, then towards integration, softening, and rest.
SomaAxis provides the scaffolding, not a prescribed script.

Explore the Visual Pose Library
Browse a visual library of yoga poses and sequencing elements using the categories available in the builder:
Arm Balance · Arm Support · Backbend · Breath · Inversion · Kneeling · Marker · Prone · Quadruped · Restorative · Seated · Section · Standing · Supine · Transition
You can also filter poses by their energetic quality:
Grounding · Opening · Activating · Expansive · Peak Precision · Restorative
Each pose card includes a clear visual reference together with its English and Sanskrit names, making it easier to recognize poses and add them to your sequence.
Pose details offer additional support through teaching cues, alignment considerations, modifications, sequencing ideas, anatomy, and safety information. Pose Spotlights explore selected poses more deeply, including preparation, progression, and different ways to approach them in class.

Shape the Energy Arc of the Class
At the centre of SomaAxis is a sequencing framework that follows the natural movement of a class:
Arrive → Warm Up → Activate → Build → Elevate → Ignite → Integrate → Soften → Rest
These stages help you consider more than pose categories. They invite you to notice how the practice may feel in the body: where students arrive and orient, where energy gradually gathers, where effort reaches its fullest expression, and how that energy is integrated before rest.
The pose energy filters — Grounding, Opening, Activating, Expansive, Peak Precision, and Restorative — offer another way to consider what each part of the sequence contributes to the experience of the class.
The framework is not a rigid formula. It is a visible structure you can interpret and adjust according to the students in front of you, the intention of the class, and your own teaching approach.
As you build a sequence from structure, section cards mark each stage — Arrive, Warm Up, Activate, Build, Elevate, Ignite, Integrate, Soften, Rest — so you can see exactly where each pose falls within the arc.

Bring a Theme Into the Practice
Explore Class Themes when you want the practice to carry an intention beyond its physical focus. The library includes physical, energetic, life, seasonal, and yoga philosophy themes that can help you find a starting point and carry it through the class.
A theme might shape the quality of movement, the language you use, or the experience you invite students to notice. Use the ideas as inspiration, then interpret them in a way that feels natural to your teaching and appropriate for the students in front of you.

Save, Duplicate, and Refine Your Work
Save sequences so you can return to them later, duplicate an existing sequence as the starting point for another class, and refine your plans as your teaching evolves.
A familiar sequence might become shorter, gentler, more activating, or more focused on a particular theme. Instead of rebuilding each class from the beginning, you can work with what you have already learned and shape it for a different group, day, or intention.
Review and Practise Before You Teach
Review your completed sequence as a whole to consider its flow, pacing, transitions, and overall arc.
When you want to experience the sequence in your own body, switch to Practice mode and move through it pose by pose. This gives you another opportunity to notice how the transitions feel, where more time may be needed, and whether the class moves towards the experience you intended.

More Than a Yoga Sequence Generator
A sequence generator makes many of the creative decisions for you. SomaAxis takes a different approach.
It supports you with structure, visual organization, teaching resources, and an energy-based framework, while leaving room for your knowledge of your students and your own way of teaching.
You choose the poses. You shape the transitions. You determine the emphasis, pacing, and intention. SomaAxis helps make that planning process clearer, faster, and easier to revisit.
